This is our place to share the things we create and love.
In the spring of 2013 my interest in soap making began. I started with a beginner kit of melt and pour bases using my microwave, then scenting little bars with whatever I could find in my kitchen. As time went by, I decided to take it to the next level by purchasing lye, some olive oil, coconut oil, and a very large tub of lard from our grocery store. After a few “learning curve” moments, I was finally able to produce a pure moisturizing bar of soap. And honestly – I don’t think I will ever go back to “store bought” soap! As a person with very dry sensitive skin, it has made a big difference for me in the arid climate where we live.
As time went by, my experiments with soap making quickly expanded to include the dried herbs I’d been gathering from my garden all summer as well as a fun new use for my spice cabinet. As my local summer markets closed for the season, I opened a new Etsy shop to continue sharing our naturally handcrafted soaps as well as my husband’s beautifully made wooden toys and nativity sets. He is a very talented man and I am so lucky to have him!
We hope you enjoy visiting our shop! **Farming Grace Etsy Shop**
